About

Medical Forum was launched in 1990 by a British doctor... Sonia Hutton-Taylor.

Having originally trained in ophthalmology she made a radical career change herself and for the past 25 years she has worked solely in the areas relating occupational health to work performance and career planning -  namely a highly specialised form of career guidance.

She became increasingly aware that the choices people make ( or don't make) regarding their careers contribute to their mental and physical health and vice versa

( health impacting career) so she began to design a range of career exploration tools. Initially this was only for members of the medical profession but as more medics asked whether their relatives could join - experience was gained in applying the same principles and approaches to all degree entry professions.

The conclusion has been irrefutably - that the principles of career planning and support are identical for everyone - irrespective of their original degree or training.

The link between mental and physical health, career planning skills and reaching what the individual defines as success FOR THEM is the lynch pin upon which forging career enjoyment is achieved
